At the New Voting Foundation we are constantly thinking of new ways of using Internet technologies to revolutionize the way we handle our political affairs as citizens in a democracy. All our projects have one purpose in common: to make politics transparant and to enable citizens to participate. Our projects do that, however, in a variety of ways.

Whodoyouvotefor

Wiekiesjij (whodoyouvotefor) is an online voting wizard which helps you pick your preferred candidate for parliament, local assembly, or any other representative body. Answer ten easy question and find the match to your personal requirements.

Mailyourpolitician

As a citizen, you have the right to write to your government and expect a meaningful answer. Only, who to write to? Maildepolitiek (mailyourpolitician) helps you find the designated representative for your question and helps you send an email, remind him, or forward your question to someone else.

HNS.dev

Definitely our coolest project so far is our developers community HNS.dev which presents a standardized open-source environment and data warehouse to facilitate e-participation projects in the Netherlands. We collect political information, mash them, hash them, tag them, and API them. The cornucopia of statistics, statements, releases, voting histories, and poll results fuel all our other projects and everyone else who want to use this information for their own e-participation projects. We're nerds, and this is what turns us on.
